UNM Hospital, part of UNM SOM’s network, is the only Level 1 trauma center in New Mexico and recognized for excellence in cancer and children's care.<br /><br />For admissions, candidates must demonstrate a strong academic record, clinical and volunteer experience, and submit letters of recommendation. While a bachelor’s degree is highly recommended, prerequisite courses and a minimum MCAT score of 494 are required. UNM SOM offers various programs including an Early Decision Program, a combined MD/PhD program, and an MD/MPH program. Financial aid is available through need- and merit-based scholarships.
